Foreigners…
Since Poland joined the EU it’s been a common feature of call-in shows to hear people complaining about foreigners coming in and taking all our jobs… But the tide may be set to change, with the growing Polish economy and the weakening UK Economy.
The people who have been coming to the UK have often been qualified people, teachers, doctors, programmers etc, but have come to work in the UK in factories and menial labour jobs as they could earn considerably more doing these jobs here than the jobs they trained for in Poland. But the BBC reports on the changing economies, currency values and standards of living that are enticing more and more qualified workers out of low-end jobs, long hours and distance from their families here and back into high-end jobs, better working conditions and their homes in Poland.
“Those foreigners going home and leaving us with all the work to do!!!”
I wonder if that’s what we are going to start hearing on the Steven Nolan show as we find our factories and other undesirable jobs devoid of workers and our unemployed feeling the pressure to get off their backsides!
