Ipaq gone…

June 15th, 2006 Posted in Uncategorized

My HP Ipaq has been my constant companion since coming to Japan. I have used it to read and send emails, keep track of appointments and phone numbers, as a japanese-english dictionary and a whole lot more. But today, at the English Night, I was trying to get it to play music back through the sound system and it froze. So I reset it. And now the touchscreen isn’t working. This effectively makes it a paperweight.

I am gutted.

Sorry to hear that, man… all I can say is “manufacturer’s warranty.”

    mmm that’s a bummer.
I’ve got no car at the moment… I hit a wild boar while driving to my parents place to watch the football. I was doing about 80kph and the thing just ran out in front of my car. crazy random stuff! So yeah my cars bumper bar and headlights are not in good shape.. but other than that I think the car might be ok.

    laters :)

I heard touchscreen probs weren’t covered, but I filed a report with HP and the guy emailed me back saying “send it in and we’ll fix it under warranty” so its looking more hopeful!

Nice to hear it… I thought that all manufacturers had to provide 1 years’ warranty on their products, touchscreen or not. Maybe I’m wrong, though. Glad to hear they’re willing to help. What are you using in the meantime? A MacBook Pro…? Mmmm… what a lovely piece of kit…

Using a Dell desktop and a home built desktop (I think its home built).
The Macbook is Matthew’s and it is very nice.
But looking at the stats it still seems that you can get more bang per buck elsewhere…

Arg! Quelle fromage. Surely nothing will ever compensate this tragique loss. Waaa! etc.
I know nothing about these matters but if Ormo’s gutted it can hardly be good enough… woe. Woe!!
